Le commissaire de nombreuses expositions, entre New York, Londres<\/span> et Paris<\/strong>, le collaborateur des grandes maisons de ventes, l’intime des plus grands peintres du XX\u00b0 si\u00e8cle<\/strong>, de Francis BACON<\/strong> \u00e0 PICASSO<\/span><\/strong> en passant par WARHOL<\/span><\/strong> et\u00a0Lucian FREUD<\/strong> – tous ou presque firent son portrait – John RICHARDSON<\/strong><\/span> s’\u00e9tait totalement investi \u00e0 partir de 1980 dans une biographie monstre,\u00a0A life of PICASSO<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(Random house, <\/strong><\/em>puis<\/strong> Knopff, <\/strong><\/em>traduite en partie en fran\u00e7ais aux<\/strong> \u00e9ditions du Ch\u00eane)<\/strong><\/em>. Il achevait le 4\u00b0 tome, consacr\u00e9 aux ann\u00e9es 30 et 40, quand la mort l’a surprit, \u00e0 New York, chez lui, mais ses assistants, autour de\u00a0Ross FINOCCHIO<\/span><\/strong>, sauront perp\u00e9tuer cette entreprise sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent de recr\u00e9ation d’une vie, au jour le jour, sans complaisance ni\u00a0malveillance,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0en l’inscrivant dans la grande et la petite histoire,\u00a0avec une constante pertinence<\/strong>. A curator of many exhibitions, <\/span><\/span>in New York, London<\/span> and Paris<\/strong>, a collaborator<\/span> for some of the greatest auctions houses, <\/span>a friend<\/span> of some of the best artists of the XXth century<\/strong>, from <\/span>Francis<\/span> BACON<\/strong> to <\/span>PICASSO<\/strong>, not to mention <\/span>Andy<\/span> WARHOL<\/strong> and <\/span>Lucian FREUD<\/strong> – who painted his portrait -,<\/span> John RICHARDSON<\/strong><\/span> was totaly involved, since 1980, in writing a unique biography<\/span> <\/span>A life of PICASSO<\/strong>\u00a0(Random house, then Knopff)<\/strong><\/em>.
