Ils se rencontre\u0300rent autour de 1910, le premier n\u2019ayant encore rien publie\u0301 de significatif, le second, poe\u0300te brillant et dro\u0302le, virevoltant du salon de la <strong>comtesse de Noailles<\/strong> aux coulisses des <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Ballets russes<\/span><\/strong>. <strong>PROUST<\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">fascine\u0301<\/span>, e\u0301prouva pour lui un \u201c<span style=\"color: #008000;\">amour impossible<\/span>\u201d, asphyxiant,<\/strong> jusqu\u2019au moment ou\u0300 <strong>Gide<\/strong> et la NRF le consacre\u0300rent grand e\u0301crivain. Il laissa alors tomber <strong>COCTEAU<\/strong>, justifiant ce que <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Lucien DAUDET<\/strong> <\/span>lui avait dit un jour : \u201c<strong>Marcel est ge\u0301nial<\/strong>, mais c\u2019est un insecte atroce\u201d.
