Ce narcissisme en miroir<\/strong><\/span> – \u00ab\u00a0Tu m’aimes parce que je suis fort, je t’aime parce que tu es grand<\/strong>\u00ab\u00a0, – fonctionne g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement bien, jusqu’aux premi\u00e8res d\u00e9faites annonciatrices de l’effondrement<\/strong>. Qu’importe que Grozny ait \u00e9t\u00e9 ras\u00e9e durant<\/strong><\/span> la seconde guerre de Tch\u00e9tch\u00e9nie, la G\u00e9orgie amput\u00e9e<\/strong>, Alep martyris\u00e9e<\/span><\/strong> lors de la guerre civile syrienne,\u00a0 le nouveau tsar<\/span><\/strong> arrache avec les dents<\/span><\/strong> des territoires perdus de l’ex-Empire tsariste ou sovi\u00e9tique pour les d\u00e9poser aux pieds de son peuple<\/span><\/strong>.\"\"<\/a> Ce contrat obsc\u00e8ne est assur\u00e9 d’un succ\u00e8s certain, en Histoire <\/strong><\/span>: sans comparer l’incomparable, c’est Napol\u00e9on \u00ab\u00a0offrant\u00a0\u00bb au peuple fran\u00e7ais<\/strong> un tiers de l’Europe,\u00a0 plus que Louis XIV<\/span> et Charlemagne r\u00e9unis<\/strong>, en mettant sur le tr\u00f4ne ses fr\u00e8res et soeurs; c’est Mussolini \u00ab\u00a0rendant\u00a0\u00bb aux Italiens la Libye et la Tunisie que contr\u00f4lait l’Empire romain<\/span><\/strong>, avant une partie de la Somalie, l’Ethiopie<\/span> et l’Erythr\u00e9e<\/strong>; c’est Hitler<\/span> restituant aux Allemands la grandeur<\/strong> que le trait\u00e9 de Versailles leur a confisqu\u00e9, en leur offrant l’Autriche<\/span>, la Pologne, les pays Baltes<\/span>, avant la Hollande, la Belgique,<\/span> la France and so on<\/em><\/strong> – la liste serait trop longue pour ce post; c’est Staline \u00ab\u00a0rendant\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 l’URSS la Pologne et les pays Baltes apr\u00e8s avoir tent\u00e9 d’annexer la Finlande et <\/span><\/strong>avant de manger la Moldavie et de phagocyter l’Albanie, la Yougoslavie<\/span>, la Roumanie, la Bulgarie<\/span>, la Tch\u00e9coslovaquie…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ces pr\u00e9dations s’av\u00e8rent efficaces<\/strong>, dans un premier temps: Napol\u00e9on, Mussolini<\/span>,\"\"<\/a> Staline et Hitler<\/span> ont \u00e9t\u00e9 adul\u00e9s par une partie de leur peuple<\/span><\/strong>, le plus violent, Hitler<\/strong>, ayant m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 le plus aim\u00e9. Nul doute que si Marine LE PEN<\/strong> \u00e9tait \u00e9lue le 24 avril, elle gagnerait \u00e0 mettre en place un m\u00eame narcissisme \u00e0 deux<\/span><\/strong> – \u00ab\u00a0Tu m’aimes parce que je dis tout haut ce que tu penses, je t’aime parce que ta grandeur restaur\u00e9e va assurer ma post\u00e9rit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/strong>. On se demande donc ce que fera celle qui se pr\u00e9sente d\u00e9sormais comme <\/span>une gentille mamie confitures<\/span> tout occup\u00e9e \u00e0 g\u00e2ter ses chats<\/span><\/strong>, quand le jour viendra d’affronter de vrais fauves<\/strong><\/span>, Poutine<\/strong> en particulier. On peut penser qu’elle ne s’opposera pas s\u00e9rieusement \u00e0 lui, au vu des liens \u00e9troits qu’ils ont tiss\u00e9s. Elle pourrait m\u00eame<\/span> \u00eatre tent\u00e9e de<\/strong> jouer cette carte de la grandeur retrouv\u00e9, par association :\u00a0 on commence par <\/strong>crier \u00ab\u00a0On est chez nous\u00a0\u00bb, on finit par<\/span> s’installer chez les autres…<\/span><\/p>\n

Et toujours l’autocrate populiste se targue<\/span> d’\u00eatre fils ou fille du peuple: Staline<\/strong>, Hitler<\/span><\/strong>, Poutine<\/strong>, Le Pen<\/span><\/strong>, c’est toujours la m\u00eame rengaine, je suis des v\u00f4tres, je vous d\u00e9fends contre les forces de l’\u00e9tranger et de l’argent, j<\/em><\/strong><\/span>e suis le peuple<\/strong><\/em>. Le peuple n’existe qu’aux moments br\u00fblants de l’Histoire – r\u00e9voltes<\/span>, refus d’occupation, c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de victoires <\/strong><\/span>: il est le reste du temps le levier des dictateurs, des terroristes<\/span> et des nationaux-populistes.<\/strong> Dans les pays libres, il est une addition de citoyens<\/strong><\/span> souverains qui, esp\u00e9rons-le<\/strong>, ne se tromperons pas dimanche prochain.<\/p>\n

After flattering his people by reminding them of his greatness and the past extent of his empire,<\/strong> an autocrat wants to reach new heights of popularity by starting a new war to \u201coffer\u201d the same people a New Victory<\/span><\/strong>. This mirror narcissism \u2013 \u2018You love me because I am strong, I love you because you are great\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 usually works well until the first defeats herald the collapse.Grozny was burned to the ground,<\/strong> <\/span>and Aleppo was martyred consecutively during the second Chechen war and the Syrian civil war,<\/strong> and Georgia was amputated; the new tsar is bringing back lost territories from the former tsarist or Soviet empire to lay them at his people\u2019s feet.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This obscene contract is sure to be a success in history: without comparing the incomparable, it is Napoleon \u201coffering\u201d to the French people a third of Europe, more than Louis XIV and Charlemagne combined,<\/strong> by putting his brothers and sisters on the throne; it is Mussolini \u201cgiving back\u201d to the Italians Libya and Tunisia that the Roman Empire controlled, before parts of Somalia, Ethiopia and Eritrea; it was Hitler restoring to the Germans the greatness<\/strong> <\/span>that the Treaty of Versailles had confiscated from them, by giving them Austria, Poland, the Baltic States, before Holland, Belgium, France and so on \u2013 the list would be too long for this article; it was Stalin who \u201cgave back\u201d Poland and the Baltic States to the USSR after having tried to annex Finland and before eating Moldavia and swallowing Albania, Yugoslavia, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

And always the populist autocrat boasts of being the son or daughter of the people: Stalin, Hitler, Putin, Le Pen, it\u2019s always the same tagline, I am one of you, I defend you against the forces of money, I am the people.<\/strong> The people only exist at the most burning moments of history \u2013 revolts, refusal of occupation, the celebration of victories: for the rest, they are the lever of dictators, terrorists, and national populists.
